Lake Mburo National Park is known as the closet National Park within Kampala, Uganda’s capital city approximately 240 kilometers. This gives you chance to have a game drive, boat trip, and nature walk where you will spot the big hard of Zebra, buffalos, impalas, Elands, antelopes, and so on. Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park (Travel Time +4 hours)
You wake up early in the morning from your place of stay in Kampala/Entebbe to embark on the transfer to Lake Mburo National Park at around 6 am to the southwest of Uganda 240km about 3 – 4 hours’ drive. You make a stop at Uganda Equator crossing 77km from Kampala for a thrilling cup of coffee and amazing photoshoots before proceeding to pass through impressive countryside landscapes to arrive in Lake Mburo National Park in the mid-morning. Upon arrival, you embark on a rewarding game drive exploring the park’s savannah environment dotted with counts of wild game. You have possibilities of encountering Rothschild Giraffes, Topis, Warthogs, Buffaloes, Elands, Waterbucks, Impala, Burchell’s Zebra among others. You retreat from the activity and settle for lunch. In the afternoon, you embark on a thrilling boat cruise on Lake Mburo with its calm waters overlooking an extensive swamp system and the towering hills beyond on one side, and the forested shoreline on one side. You have possibilities of encountering a range of Hippos and the Nile Crocodiles. Birds like African Fish eagles might be seen perching on the shoreline trees targeting their prey.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi National Park (Travel Time +4 hours)
Begin your day with morning breakfast and then embark on your morning nature walks to the different areas of interest like the Nakivale wetland which is associated with fresh water and plains of seasonal floods which are permanent, this is an opportunity to see some animals as they graze and go back to their hiding places, this includes Hippopotamus, Buffalos, antelopes, Common Warthog, Bushbuck and many more that are around the swamp drinking water. Later, embark on your drive to Bwindi National Park in southwest of Uganda where gorilla tracking takes place. The journey is very scenic as you have an opportunity to see the Kigezi rolling hills and valleys as you travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park
Today, begin an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and join others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Uganda Gorilla trekking safari tour. Once this is done, you will trek through the thick forest with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to six hours. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds, and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them before trekking back to the Park headquarter. Thereafter you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.
Later in the afternoon, you will take a village walk which will offer you a great chance to see how the people surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The walk begins with your tour guide at Buhoma Community Rest Camp and who is resourceful about the community, the walk is worthwhile. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways and is also a great way to support the local community in a direct way.

Day 4: Drive to Kampala/Entebbe Airport (Travel Time +8 hours)
After your morning breakfast, you will be driven to Kampala/Entebbe, you will have an en-route stopover at Igongo culture center to explore the culture of the Ankole region and then embark on the drive to Kampala/Entebbe Airport.
